What is GST Registration?

Goods and Services Tax (GST) is a unified indirect tax levied on the supply of goods and services throughout India under the CGST, SGST and IGST Acts, 2017, subsuming the earlier patchwork of central and state indirect taxes into a single, transparent structure. GST Registration is the process through which a business obtains its unique 15-digit, PAN-based GST Identification Number (GSTIN) — the legal authority to collect GST from customers, claim Input Tax Credit (ITC) on purchases, and issue tax-compliant invoices. On approval, the business receives a GST Registration Certificate that serves as formal proof of registration under GST law.

Registration is mandatory once aggregate annual turnover crosses ₹40 lakh for suppliers of goods or ₹20 lakh for suppliers of services (₹20 lakh and ₹10 lakh respectively in special-category states). It is compulsory regardless of turnover for inter-state suppliers, e-commerce operators and sellers, and certain other notified categories. Small taxpayers may instead opt for the composition scheme, paying GST at a low flat rate with simplified quarterly compliance. Whether you run a Private Limited Company, LLP, Partnership Firm, or Proprietorship, we make the entire registration simple, fast, and hassle-free.

Common Questions

Everything you need to know

No. It is mandatory only once aggregate turnover crosses ₹40 lakh for suppliers of goods or ₹20 lakh for suppliers of services (₹20 lakh / ₹10 lakh in special-category states). However, inter-state suppliers, e-commerce operators and sellers, and certain other notified categories must register regardless of turnover. Businesses below the threshold may also register voluntarily to claim Input Tax Credit.
